A simple place to start
If you're new to soap making and want a straightforward way to get clean, even cuts, this is a good place to begin.
The Beginner Starter Set combines a handheld wire soap cutter with a cutting base, giving you everything you need to start cutting your freshly unmoulded soap without needing a large piece of equipment taking over your workspace.
The handheld cutter is made from durable Tasmanian hardwood and sits comfortably on the supplied cutting base, or you can use it on your own suitable cutting board or workbench.
This set is particularly suited to new soap makers, small-batch makers and anyone who wants to keep their setup simple.
It's a practical choice if you're making soap at home and aren't yet producing batches large enough to need a multi-bar cutter.
As your soap making grows, you may eventually want to move to a larger cutter. For starting out, though, this gives you a simple and reliable way to learn the process and get straight, consistent cuts.

Important information
Your soap needs to be freshly unmoulded and still soft enough to cut. Hard or cured soap can break the cutting wire or damage the tool.
The guitar keys hold the wire securely, although wire tension can loosen with use. We recommend checking the wire tension before each cut.
This cutter is designed for Cold / Hot Process soft soap only.
Care & cleaning
- Wipe with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth or microfibre cloth
- Do not use water
- Keep dry
We use recycled wood whenever we can, so the timber you receive may have its own little bit of character.
